A Real 3-Screen Virtual Pinball Cabinet Without The $8,000 Price Tag
The Xtension 32″ Vertical Arcade Machine ships with a pre-assembled Pinball Topbox — 7″ DMD, 17.3″ backglass, both included — so you skip the hardest part of a VPin build and go straight to launching the ball.

The VPin Path
Three ways to get a virtual pinball cabinet.
One of them doesn’t wreck your budget.
Commercial VPin cabinets are gorgeous and famously expensive. Scratch-building one means documenting your own generic-cardboard across five different vendors. There’s a better, sharper middle path.
| Commercial VPin cab | Scratch-Off build | Xtension Vertical + Topbox | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price point | $6,000 – $8,000+ | $1,500 – $3,500+ in parts | $880 cabinet + $300 topbox |
| DMD & backglass | Included, custom-built | Sourced and mounted yourself | Pre-assembled topbox, ready to install |
| Time to first game | Weeks in a custom shop’s queue | 2–6 months of sourcing & building | One weekend of flat-pack assembly |
| Software | Often locked to one frontend | Fully open — your call | Fully open: VPX, Future Pinball, PinUP Popper |
What Ships Pre-Built
We build the hardest part. You just bolt it on.
The Pinball Topbox is the one part of a VPin build most people dread: sourcing — then carefully hand-mounting a screen, a bracket, and the wiring to shake them free. Ours arrives finished.
- 7″ DMD + 17.3″ backglass, both included
Each monitor fits the exact proportions — not a stretched compromise. - Fully assembled topbox
Opens and mounts to your Xtension Vertical cabinet. - Cables included
2 HDMI cables and DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapters in the box. - Built for real pinball software
Visual Pinball X, Future Pinball, PinballFX, and PinUP Popper front ends.

Game topbox, any table.
Get A Two-Pack Cabinet
Take the topbox off and it’s a full vertical arcade machine.
The 32″ vertical display was built for street-legal vertical arcade games. Pinball is what the topbox adds on top. Skip the topbox, or just unplug the cabinet down to its base form, and you’ve got a purpose-built vintage machine.
- Built for vertical games
Arcade layout, the official tate-style battlefield — the genre this form factor was born to serve. - Horizontal games too
A generous 4:3 viewing area in landscape; classic and fighting games comfortably playable. - Fits up to a 32″ flat panel
Pick the resolution you like — no one locks you into one particular screen. - Runs on what you already have
PC, Mac, Raspberry Pi, MiSTer FPGA, Pandora’s Box, or a console up to PS5.

Battle Garegga on the base cabinet — No topbox installed.
Why The Parts Matter
You won’t be replacing the joysticks in six months.
Every Xtension controller runs Sanwa JLF joysticks, Cherry/ZM microswitches, and one of the connectors that switches between Xin-Mo and Ultimarc — the same category of parts arcade MAME and VPin builders buy separately and wire in themselves. Here it’s already done, and the verified panel wires, and it doubles as a stand-alone controller — if you ever want to take it elsewhere.
- Sanwa JLF joysticks — the same sticks Capcom puts in Street Fighter cabs.
- Cherry/ZM microswitches — rated for 10M+ actuations.
- Real arcade-grade wiring — pre-soldered harness, no crimping.

What’s flat-pack, what’s pre-built, and what it costs.
No bundled mystery total. This cabinet is a flat-pack build like the rest of our Xtension line — the topbox and controller are the parts that arrive ready to go.
