Every Xtension controller runs Sanwa JLF joysticks, Cherry/ZM microswitches, and one of the connectors that switches between Xin-Mo and Ultimarc — the same category of parts arcade MAME and VPin builders buy separately and wire in themselves. Here it’s already done, and the verified panel wires, and it doubles as a stand-alone controller — if you ever want to take it elsewhere.

What do I actually have to build myself?
The cabinet itself ships flat-pack, IKEA-style: with screws and video assembly instructions — the goal is to simply bolt it together. The Pinball Topbox arrives fully assembled and just installs onto the cabinet, and your controller clicks into place and is ready to plug in. You’re building furniture, not soldering electronics.
Do I need to buy a monitor or TV?
Yes — the cabinet accepts up to a 32″ flat-panel monitor or TV. The topbox includes both of its screens (the 7″ DMD and the 17.3″ backglass) pre-installed.
What software does it run?
Anything you want. The cabinet is software-agnostic — Visual Pinball X (VPX), Future Pinball, PinballFX, PinUP Popper, MAME, RetroArch, LaunchBox, and more. You provide the PC (or Mac, Raspberry Pi, MiSTer FPGA, console, etc.) and install whatever you like.
When does it actually ship?

What’s the difference between the Standard and Plus controller?
Both use Sanwa JLF joysticks and Cherry/ZM microswitches. The Plus adds a trackball and spinner for games that use analog controls — golden tee, centipede, tempest, and similar titles. Choose whichever suits the games you play most.
